  British  SAS Urban Wafare  L1A1  7.62  

      A few years ago an urban myth started circulating around the military circles about the existence of a short Barrel L1A1.  There was a rumours that the British special force in the 1960's had modified there issued Standard L1A1 to a short barrel version.

    The reason was for door enter into houses urban area's of Northern Ireland as the standard barrel length of the L1A1 was 'just too long' for quick acquisition in a confined space also close quater fire fights. 

   

     We are never going to know as no one will admit to it,  but the rumours are very strong !
