This Pre-War Production: Built in 1938, this rifle represents early, high-quality pre-war German military manufacturing before mass wartime expedients degraded finish and machining standards.
Year: 1938, a transition year when the early "S/" prefix on factory codes was dropped mid-production (earlier 1937 in early the 1938 models were stamped 243 the Nazi factory code for Mauser-Werke A.G. Berlin-Borsigwalde.
This pre WW2 Nazi K98 still has its original leather sling.
The serial number is 3951 p and factory inspection stamp In the early "p" block of 243 1938
During the time the Waffenamt inspection team "280" did their service at Mauser Berlin-Borsigwalde.
In late 1938 the Waffenamt inspection team "26" took over the inspection and continued until the end of K98k production at Mauser Berlin
This pre WW2 Nazi K98 has a matching barrel to the receiver , the barrel gauges to factory spec and looks like only a few round have been shot though it..
The floor plate is matching number the barrel and receiver 3951 p , this K98 has a very nice wood patina .
This is a very nice pre WW2 Mauser built K98 in very good order, this K98 has come out of a collection, so we have no idea of its history . Like any Military service rifle it has been used, but its rare to find a very early dated pre war K98 ...anywhere.
