Have you been looking online for more information about the Lee-Metford Gun? The Lee-Metford rifle first came into use in the late 19th century and was utilised by the British Army. The rifle was re-developed after a number of years because of the way the heat and pressure it produced was affecting the rifling. Because of this, a new wear-resistant, square-shaped rifling system was brought in, with the new Lee Enfield rifles joining the bolt-action of the Lee-Metford with the Enfield barrel. The new rifle was called the “Long-Lee” and the Magazine Lee-Enfield.
