WW2 Royal Marine Commandos Number 4T .303 Dated 1944 Number 32 Mark 3 scope
Transit case C.E.S in Royal Navy Blue
The condition is almost ex stores, this rare WW2 Royal Marine Commandos Number 4T .303 Dated 1944 .303 fitted with a Number 32 Mk3 scope with Transit case , sling and cleaning kit.
A number of experts have contacted us in this field, tributing this Number 4T Sniper rifle to No. 4 Commandos, Royal Marines. (we thought it was RAF issue ) until we were told the RAF never had sniper rifles in WW2.
The action, bolt and fore-end etc all have matching serial numbers.
The butt is original and has the 32 war time code and matching scope serial number stamped on the wrist
The action has all the correct markings denoting its conversion to Telescope Rifle "No4T".

Below
Holland and Holland Stamp

The No32 scope is marked OS 2039A which denotes Mk3.
AK & S No 23243 for A.Kershaw & Sons Ltd
The leather lense protectors are broad arrow marked and genuine.
The red W means it's been waterproofed.

The Number 32 Mk3 scope looks to have been overhaul as sometime in past and has very good optics .
We have replaced the broken leather transit case handles but the rest of the orginal leather straps on the Transit case are fine.
Built in 1944 this rifle may have been involved in the Norman day landings as a No.4 Royal Marine Commandos sniper rifle.
We have sold many Number 4t's in the past but we have never seen a Royal Marine Commandos sniper rifle version before !
Sorry if we have offended any Royal Marine by first listing this as RAF issue, we were put right very quickly !
